It’s Time to Rethink Representation

We are passionate about representing truth and authentic voice through immersive training and storytelling.

#RepresentationMatters

We’ve worked with

At Representation Matters Ltd, we are more than just a training consultancy. We believe in building bridges, not walls. Our ambition is to guide leadership teams in their journey to transform schools and workplaces into spaces where every individual feels they truly belong.

Our foundation is rooted in addressing racial inequalities. But as we grew, we realized that true belonging goes beyond race. We understand that intersectionality plays a critical role in shaping experiences and that cross-cultural competencies are essential for fostering true understanding and collaboration.

To make our training resonate, we intricately weave lived experiences and authentic voices into our programs. This allows us to connect not just with the mind, but more importantly, with the heart. We offer specialised training in:

Equity, Diversity, and Belonging

Fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and understood.

Anti-Racist Practice and Racial Literacy

Understanding race, its complexities, and promoting practices that challenge racism.

Leadership Development

Empowering leaders with the tools they need to be inclusive and compassionate.

Well-being and Emotional Intelligence

Ensuring the mental and emotional well-being of every individual.

Cross-Cultural Competencies

Building skills that allow individuals to understand, communicate, and effectively interact with people from diverse backgrounds.

Join us in making a difference. Because true representation matters.

Born from the stark realities of racial discrimination we witnessed in schools, Representation Matters has evolved to confront an even broader truth: these injustices don't only occur in classrooms; they're felt in hospitals, courtrooms, boardrooms, and ripple throughout our wider society.

Our heart-driven mission

To shine a light on these disparities, actively address and challenge them, and champion a world where everyone, everywhere, feels genuinely seen, valued, and empowered.

Until society recognises everyone, the question will always be ‘do I belong?

At Representation Matters, we get it. Everyone wants to be seen, heard, and included.

No one should feel left out because of who they are. That's why we set up a training consultancy rooted in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. We're here to guide schools and organisations, helping them take a good look at themselves and offering hands-on tools to make real, positive changes.

Amplifying diverse voices in today's world. Because representation isn't just important, it's essential.

  • I benefited hugely from this session. I was very happy to put myself ‘out there’ and present myself to the group. The feedback was tremendously constructive and I left feeling empowered and ready for action. Definitely appreciate being given the opportunity to showcase myself

  • I reflected on how prominent racism is still in our society. Having experienced this myself from a young age, one hopes that it has moved on. The session has helped develop my understanding and for me to find strategies to support those that are feeling discriminated against, even today. Thank you again for all that you are doing with our school community.

  • Aisha chaired a very engaging and insightful workshop. The pre-workshop exercises were useful and helped set the scene and tone for the workshop. Aisha was friendly, open and brought an authenticity to her presentation which was engaging. The content of the workshop highlighted the background and importance of representation. Aisha brought the session to life with her own experiences and ensured a safe space to encourage others to share their own stories too. An important takeaway was understanding how biases are formed, how they show up in the way we engage with others and understanding the impact and importance of representation.

Our Book

In this crucial book, Aisha Thomas demonstrates how race shapes the experiences of Global Majority teachers and pupils in the UK education system, and why representation is fundamental in every school. Using real-life stories from teachers and pupils, this book offers practical, concrete strategies and resources to drive change and promote an anti-racist approach to education.
